Product Description
PoE++ Powered Gigabit Managed Switch
The TRENDnet TPE-B541 is a 5-port Gigabit PoE++ powered managed switch designed for network deployments where a compact switch with PoE passthrough is required.
Instead of using a conventional AC power adapter, the TPE-B541 receives both network connectivity and electrical power through its Gigabit PoE++ input port. It can then provide network connectivity and PoE+ power to up to four connected devices.
This makes the TPE-B541 especially useful for expanding a PoE-powered network without installing an additional electrical outlet.
1 PoE++ Input and 4 PoE+ Outputs
The TPE-B541 features:
- 1 x Gigabit PoE++ input
- 4 x Gigabit PoE+ outputs
The input port connects to a compatible PoE++ switch or injector. The four output ports can provide Gigabit Ethernet connectivity and PoE+ power to compatible powered devices.
Typical applications include IP cameras, wireless access points, VoIP phones, IoT equipment, and other PoE-enabled network devices.
Up to 60W PoE Power Budget
The available PoE output depends on the power supplied to the TPE-B541.
With an IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 PoE++ 95W input, the switch provides up to 60W total PoE power.
With lower-power PoE input sources:
- 802.3bt Type 4 / 95W input: Up to 60W PoE budget
- 802.3bt Type 3 / 60W input: Up to 40W PoE budget
- 802.3at / 30W input: Up to 15W PoE budget
This makes the switch flexible for deployments with different upstream PoE power capabilities.
Gigabit Ethernet Performance
All five network ports support Gigabit Ethernet. The switch provides a 10Gbps switching fabric and a forwarding rate of 7.44Mpps based on 64-byte packets.
The 8K MAC address table and 10KB jumbo frame support provide additional capability for business, surveillance, and other network applications.
Web-Based Managed Networking
The TPE-B541 includes an easy-to-use HTTP web-based management interface.
Network administrators can configure and monitor features including:
- VLANs
- QoS
- PoE settings
- Bandwidth control
- Port mirroring
- IGMP Snooping
- Storm control
- Loopback detection
- Spanning Tree
- Voice VLAN
- Port isolation
VLAN Support
The TPE-B541 supports port-based VLAN and IEEE 802.1Q tagged VLAN configurations.
It supports up to 32 VLAN groups using VLAN IDs from 1–4094. VLAN port isolation can help separate network traffic between connected devices.
Voice VLAN support is also included for compatible VoIP deployments.
QoS and Bandwidth Control
Quality of Service features help prioritize network traffic.
The switch supports:
- Port-based QoS
- IEEE 802.1p Class of Service
- Strict Priority queue scheduling
- Weighted Fair Queueing
- Per-port bandwidth control/rate limiting
These features can help manage traffic for applications such as voice, video, surveillance, and business data.
IGMP Snooping and Multicast Management
IGMP Snooping v1/v2 helps manage multicast traffic on compatible networks. The switch also supports blocking unknown multicast sources.
These capabilities can be useful in networks carrying video surveillance, IPTV, and other multicast applications.
Compact Fanless Design
The TPE-B541 uses a compact fanless design for quiet operation. Its metal housing supports wall mounting and is suitable for space-constrained network installations.
